Ralph Burklin

Private services for Ralph W. Burklin of Smartville will be conducted at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Hayward.

Mr. Burklin died Tuesday, Dec. 28, in Grass Valley. He was 81.

He was born Dec. 9, 1923, in Carthridge, Mo., to William Henry and Edna Josephine (Porter) Burklin. He married Barbara on Feb. 9, 1945, in Los Angeles. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II as a Rank Machinist Mate 3/c and served at Pearl Harbor on the USS Nevada from 1940 to 1945. He was an armored car driver for Loomis for 35 years in Oakland. He enjoyed fishing. He had been a resident of Smartville for eight years.



He is survived by his sons, Ralph Burklin Jr. of Aptos, Daniel Burklin of Texas, and Scott Burklin of Murphy’s; daughter, Nancy Perri of Grass Valley; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Barbara, in 1994.

Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel of the Angels Mortuary.
