Rains bring flood watch

A forecast full of heavy rains throughout Northern California has resulted in the National Weather Service issuing a flood watch for several areas.

The watch includes the areas of Burney Basin, Shasta County, northern Lake County, Shasta Lake, western Plumas County and Lassen Park.

A flood watch means there is potential for flooding based on current forecasts.

The watch remains in effect from noon through later this evening.

Locally, the forecast calls for thunderstorms throughout the day. The National Weather Service is predicting temperatures rising to the low 50s on Monday. Rains is expected to continue through the week in western Nevada County.
