Rain could last into weekend

Rain is now possible through Saturday afternoon for Nevada County as a larger series of wetter and warmer weather systems moves through the Sierra than first predicted.

Foothill rain is expected throughout today and tonight with winds gusting up to 25 mph, according to the National Weather Service in Sacramento.

The chances for rain Wednesday and Thursday will be less, but still quite possible as more systems pass through.

More rain is likely Friday and Friday night with another chance for showers on Saturday. Skies are expected to clear Saturday night and remain that way through Monday.

Highs are expected to be in the low to mid- 50s through Saturday, with night lows in the low 40s to upper 30s.

Highs are predicted to climb back into the mid-60s Sunday and reach the 70s on Monday, with lows in the lower 40s.

No snow warnings have been issued and only a small amount is expected at 6,500 feet and above as the systems move through.
