Quick-acting bus driver averts possible tragedy

A near tragedy was averted on Tuesday, March 23 at Deer Creek School thanks to a quick acting Durham bus driver.

While loading a special needs child confined to a motorized wheelchair, the ramp used for loading malfunctioned and had the child being choked by a strap. The bus driver immediately grabbed the ramp and screamed for help until help arrived to get the strap undone and the child safely off the ramp with the help of other bus drivers and teachers. Thanks should go out to Robin (the bus driver).
