‘Put Another Nickel In’ opens Friday

“Put Another Nickel In” will start its eight-week run at Off Broadstreet in Nevada City on Friday. A favorite musical comedy, it tells of an experiment when four elderly men are figuratively taken back in time to 1960 in the hope that their altered mental state will somehow reverse the aging process. The men are then introduced to the “doo-wop” effect as they form a vocal harmony group and sort of become young again – if only temporarily. The comedy will be performed at 305 Commercial St., Nevada City, at 8:15 p.m. every Friday and Saturday evening through May 13 and for one Sunday matinee May 7 at 2 p.m. Admission is $19 on Sundays, $21 on Fridays and $23 on Saturdays. Advance reservations are strongly recommended; contact 265-8686 or visit http://www.offbroadstreet.com. See more about the play at http://www.theunion.com/entertainment
