Pub Scouts to play Irish music

Chico-based Pub Scouts brings its traditional Irish dance music along with Scottish, Cape Breton and French-Canadian tunes this Sunday to Cooper’s in Nevada City. The band’s repertoire includes jigs, reels, waltzes and airs.

Pub Scouts is a local fixture in Chico. For the past 13 years, the group has hosted the Irish music session at Duffy’s Tavern in downtown Chico every Friday from 4 to 7 p.m.

In addition to performing at pubs, weddings, wakes, school assemblies and private parties, the Pub Scouts has played the California State Fair, the Celtic Nations Festival and KVMR’s Celtic Festival in Grass Valley.

Music starts at 7:30 p.m. Sunday. There is no cover charge. Cooper’s is at 235 Commercial St. Call 265-0116 for any questions.
