Political Potpourri: Emery stages "human billboards"

Ben Emery, running as an independent for the 4th Congressional District, is putting “human billboards” to work in the last week of the campaign.

Emery, a 40-year-old Nevada City resident, has raised more than $10,000 from individuals and is running 30-second TV commercials on CNN, MSNBC, Fox News and other cable networks in the region, his campaign said.

He is also posting campaign workers around the district – including the Brunswick Road overpass – to wave “Emery for Congress” signs at passing cars.

Emery is running against Republican incumbent Tom McClintock and Democrat Clint Curtis.
