Political flip-flop

Bush: “We will win the war on terror.” Then, “I don’t think you can win it.”

Bush: “No Child Left Behind,” truth: enacted the legislature, but has not fully funded it, leaving many children behind.

“Kerry voted for the 87 billion dollars before he voted against it.” Bush threatened to veto the bill because it provided funding to veterans and reservists. Flip-flop?

Bush on 527s: “I believe individual freedom to participate in elections should be expanded, not diminished;” Now he’s against all 527 ads.

Bush: “The most important thing is for us to find Osama bin Laden.” Then, “I don’t know where he is. I have no idea and I really don’t care.”

Cheney: “Saddam had long-established ties with al Qaeda.” Bush: “We have no evidence that Saddam Hussein was involved with the 9/11 attacks.”

Cheney: “It’s absolutely essential that eight weeks from today, we make the right choice, if we make the wrong choice, then the danger is that we’ll get hit again….” Lie or threat?
