Photography a family affair

Photographers Charles Baker; his spouse, Jo Baker; and their son, David Baker, are the artists of the month for October at the Nevada City Winery. (A sample of the featured work is shown here.) Charles and Jo Baker are currently booksellers at Booktown Books in Grass Valley. Charles Baker previously worked in New York City as an architectural photographer for more than 20 years. Later, he and his wife did public relations photography for the city of North Bergen, N.J. The Bakers are interested in photographing seascapes, landscapes and close-ups of wildflowers. The exhibition also includes scenes from Chamonix in the French Alps, photographed by David Baker. There will be a free Meet the Artists reception Sunday, Oct. 7, at the winery, from 2 to 4 p.m. The exhibit is open to the public through October during tasting room hours – 12-6 p.m., Mondays through Saturdays; and 12-5 p.m., Sundays. The Nevada City Winery is located at 321 Spring Street, Nevada City. For more information, call 265-6470 or visit the winery’s Web site at http://www.ncwinery.com.
