This week, Girl Scout Troop No. 181 in Nevada City donated a flannel quilt to the local chapter of Project Linus. The quilt was a group project these 9-year-old girls worked on while earning their sewing badge. Project Linus will distribute this quilt to a deserving child in our county. In the past year, Project Linus has received nearly 1,000 hand-made blankets and quilts from blanketeers in our community. Each of these blankets will comfort a child in need. Shelley Kraft, the troop leader, said it is wonderful to see the joy on the girls’ faces when they know they are helping another child.
