Performing Arts Guild, school present Shakespeare

The Union staff

Forest Charter School and the Nevada County Performing Arts Guild join forces to present William Shakespeare’s “The Comedy of Errors” this Saturday and Sunday in Grass Valley.

“The Comedy of Errors” includes slapstick antics, mistaken identities, wrong arrests and two sets of identical twins.

Performing Arts Guild artistic director Mila Johansen has adapted the classic by shortening the play and changing archaic words. She hopes to expose all-age audiences to Shakespeare by making the play more accessible through a more manageable time length and fast-paced humorous action.

The play runs about 80 minutes. Admission is $4 at the door.

Showtime is 2 p.m. both days at the Center for the Arts, 314 W. Main St.
