Peggy Lummis

Peggy Lummis died of natural causes Sept. 26, 2007, at THE University of California, Davis, Medical Center in Sacramento. She was 73.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 4, at the Banner Grange, 12629 McCourtney Road in Grass Valley.

Mrs. Lummis was born Sept. 30, 1933, in Warsaw, Ind. She graduated from Walkerton High School in 1951 and from nursing school as a registered nurse.



She married Robert Earl Lummis in 1954. Ten years later, she moved to Southern California. She worked for many years as an operating room charge nurse at Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Panorama City.

After retiring, Mrs. Lummis moved to Nevada County in 1988 and worked for 14 years as a hospice nurse for Sierra Nevada County Home Health Care.




Mrs. Lummis was a member of the Sierra Center for Positive Living. She enjoyed birdwatching, her family dogs, singing in choirs and classical music.

She is survived by her daughter, Susan Lummis of Valley Village; and sister Martha Keeling of Walkerton, Ind.
