Pearl Soto

Pearl Dean Soto died Oct. 21 at her home in Grass Valley. She was 64.

A recitation of the rosary will be held at 7 p.m., Nov. 2, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Grass Valley. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m., Nov. 3, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Inurnment will follow at St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery.

Mrs. Soto was born Aug. 3, 1943, in Weslaco, TX. She graduated from Sequoia High School in 1961 and went on the manage Peninsular Ambulance Service and Valley Ambulance in Castro Valley.

Mrs. Soto was a member of Y.L.I., or “Our Lady of Grace,” #206. She enjoyed oil painting and was a rock hound.

Mrs. Soto is survived by her husband, James Donald Soto of Grass Valley; sons Michael Lee Holder of Fremont and Kevin Brian Soto of Lake Port; brother, Floyd A. McCall of Meadow Vista; sister, Carol Ann Jackson of Brentwood; niece, Maria McCall Dempsey of Auburn; and uncle, Earl Jack McCall of Cross Plains, Texas. She was preceded in death by her mother, Erma Lee McDonald; father, Kevin Michael McDonald; and son, James “Jim” Donald Soto Jr.

Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of the Foothills in Grass Valley.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.
