Peace Center needs someone to share space

The Peace Center of Nevada City has three months to find someone to sublet a portion of the building it rents or the group will have to find a new home.

The land lord for the Peace Center’s current location on Argall Way in Nevada City gave the extension and waved fees for space that was vacated several weeks ago.

“We’re kind of like hanging,” said Susheela Farrell, volunteer and board secretary of the Peace Center.

A small back office large enough for a desk, computer and two tables is available for $450, Farrell said.

The Peace Center organizes peace rallies and demonstrations and actively recruits high school students as an alternative to the military, Farrell said.
