Paul Ports Jr. obituary

Memorial services for Paul R. Ports Jr. of Live Oak will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Gridley-Biggs Cemetery in Gridley. The Veterans of Foreign Wars Honor Guard and the Rev. Christine Jeffers of the Yuba Sutter Church of Religious Science will officiate at the services. Inurnment will take place at the Gridley-Biggs Cemetery.

Mr. Ports Jr. died Friday, May 5, at Biggs-Gridley Memorial Hospital in Gridley. He was 70.

He was born Sept. 20, 1935, in Sterling, Ill. He served in the U.S. Army from 1955 to 1957. He was a former resident of Lake Wildwood. He retired from the Yuba County Career Preparatory Charter School in Marysville. He also worked for 40 years in auto parts wholesale in Southern California.



He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Jeanine Ports of Live Oak; son, David Ports of Phoenix, Ariz.; daughter, Heidi Goodman of Durango, Colo.; and one grandson. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Gridley-Block Funeral Chapel in Gridley.
