Over the line

Whoa! The Union’s recent series of articles concerning Bruce Conklin are waaaay over the line. As a member of the Nevada County Land Trust’s North Star Advisory Committee, I know this first-hand. The Union’s opinions, I feel, are slanderous and not true, but simple political character assassination. The paper’s insinuations are wrong and not based upon facts, but hearsay and assumptions.

I was a founding member of the Nevada County Land Trust and a board member for 10 years. I stepped down two years ago to work on the North Star Project.

The Land Trust has always operated in a nonpartisan manner, with full board consensus. Every action I have seen is completely above board, fair and transparent. I am saddened by The Union’s recent editorial turn. What ever happened to fair and balanced reporting?
