a new musical comedy by John Driscoll, will be performed at Off Broadstreet Theater in Nevada City. Performances will be at 8:15 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays through Aug. 7. Set in Boron, California, the “heartland” of the high desert, “Tumbleweed TV” chronicles the further misadventures of the operators of “pirate” radio station KBOR as they launch a new “pirate” community access TV station, where “the news is always good, the weather is always agreeable and every day is a holiday.” Broadcasting from a converted travel trailer and operating on a shoestring budget in a “grey” area of FCC regulations, KBOR TV conducts a fund-raising campaign that features faked “live” appearances by such improbable guests as The Eagles, Crosby, Stills & Nash, and Gloria Estefan.
