Our community built on mining

I recently saw an letter to the editor decrying the mural on mining. I guess some people are not happy if there isn’t a parade to rain on. I prefer to think of the strength and ingenuity of the men and women who came before us and built the communities we enjoy today. They did the best with what was available, but today we want to decry what our ancestors did because we know better. Maybe so, but we aren’t as smart as we think we are. The environment has become a religion for some, which is sad. Some will worship the creation rather than the Creator.
