Orren Chapman

Private services will be conducted for Orren Chapman of Grass Valley.

Mr. Chapman died Monday, Sept. 30, in Grass Valley. He was 96.

He was born June 23, 1906, in Newcome Township, Champagne, Ill., to Pearl Albert Chapman and Laura McGowan. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps. He married Irene Reed on April 17, 1934, in Los Angeles.



He previously lived in Smith River for 25 years. He had many vocations. He was a member of the Elks for 20 years. He enjoyed pool, golf and life stories.

He is survived by his daughters Betty L. Gmur of Cerritos, Linda L. Burrus of Smith River and Sandra Zimmerman of Grass Valley; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, two sisters and a brother.




Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel of the Angels Mortuary.
