On the scene – We’re seeking new ideas for Prospector

The next holiday is St. Patrick’s Day. Are you doing anything to celebrate to which the public is invited? If so, please let me know by e-mail, if possible, or by phone.

A new idea! A guest column in the Prospector ” something like “View from the Arts” ” written by local creatives. This would give folks involved directly or tangentially in arts and entertainment a chance to write a little about topics such as what five discs are in your CD player; what’s special about your job at the radio station, theater company, or art gallery; or things that inspire you to create your writing/art/dance/music, or conversely, get over blocks. We are just starting to kick this idea around, so it may have some growing pains. Please e-mail or call me with your idea.

Ever since announcing I’m taking completed forms for the Friday Artist Profile (in A section of The Union), they’ve been pouring in ” which means it may be a couple of weeks before those who submitted see their profile in print. We’re always ready to send out more, though. E-mail me at pamj@theunioncom, and I’ll e-mail you the form to fill out. Artist of all ilks are invited. You can also download the form yourself by going to http://www.theunion.com and clicking

on “forms,” which appears on the left.

Thanks for all the kind words about the Prospector. Much appreciated. Have any beefs? We take those too, because we want to be responsive to readers.
