On the scene – Changes at the Prospector

With the coming of the new year, changes have happened at the Prospector. Longtime editor Carol Feineman has left, and I have become the interim editor. Big shoes to fill, but I’ll do my best.

The Prospector is interested in what you are doing, be it music, theater, dance, art, presentations, events, happenings ” in fact, anything that can be considered entertaining, enlightening and fun. We’d like to cast a large net to include more under the rubric “entertainment.” A horse show, for example, or an educational outdoor experience? Do you have a restaurant you love?

While all the old pros who have been dealing with the Prospector for years know the drill, just a reminder to those who are new: We love to receive press releases at least three weeks before the event.

Please e-mail them to pamj@theunion.com; or either snail mail them to, or drop them off at, The Union, 464 Sutton Way, Grass Valley, CA 95945. We also love receiving pictures, in color if possible, 150 dpi, e-mailed, snail mailed, or dropped off.

A resident of the county since 1984, I’ve been so impressed by the breadth of entertainment offerings here. And I think it’s getting even better, don’t you?

If you are in the neighborhood, please drop by to say hi; it’s fun to put names with faces. Or call me at 477-4232. Thanks, too, for being patient with the “learning curve.”
