Obituary: Teresa Van Son

Memorial services for Teresa Van Son of Chicago Park will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Calvary Bible Church on Highway 174. Burial will be at Sierra Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Nevada City.

Mrs. Van Son died Sunday, Feb. 24, at home. She was 46.



She was born Nov. 18, 1955, in Quincy, Mass., to George and Ruth Snowling. She graduated from Dos Pueblos High School and Santa Barbara Business College. She married Carl Van Son on Feb. 24, 1979, and moved to Nevada County in 1981. Mrs. Van Son was a homemaker and worked with her husband in the office of their construction company.




She was active at Chicago Park School with the Site Council and P.T.P., and helped start the reading-incentive program while her children attended. She was also active in various church functions and Helps Ministry at Calvary Bible Church.

Mrs. Van Son is survived by her husband, Carl Van Son of Chicago Park; daughters Kayla Van Son, Jen Van Son and Nicole Van Son, all of Chicago Park; parents, George and Ruth Snowling of Camarillo; sisters Diane Larson of Chicago Park and Gail Montagna of Moorpark; brothers Bill Snowling of Quincy, Mass., James Snowling of Lompoc, John Snowling of Camarillo and Stephen Snowling of San Francisco; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Bible Church High School Ministry or Hospice of the Foothills.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.
