Obituary: Peggy Patterson

Memorial services for Peggy Patterson of Grass Valley will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at Sierra Presbyterian Church in Nevada City. Mrs. Patterson died Monday, March 18, at home. She was 88.

She lived in Marysville with her husband, Pat. She was active in the Marysville First Presbyterian Church and served six years as the director of the Yuba-Sutter American Cancer Society. She was also an English teacher in Santa Barbara.



The Pattersons retired to Grass Valley in 1976. She was active in the Sierra Presbyterian Church and volunteered for Hospice of the Foothills. She was an avid golfer, bridge player and reader. She was active in a local miniatures group and Crafty Christians.




She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law Pat and Norm Cattell of Citrus Heights, Pamela and Dale Herd of Sacramento and Penny and Greg Savelly of Grass Valley; grandchildren Scott and Stephanie Storms and their spouses Wendy and Boris; step-grandchildren Stacy and Brian Cattell, Gina Riley and Jamie Savelly; great-grandchild Jack Van Riley; sisters Ramona Koepp of Grass Valley and Hazel Friesen of Winnie, Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years in 1979.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Foothills or Sierra Presbyterian Church.
