Obituary: Mildred Faria 1/14/02

Mildred L. Faria of Citrus Heights died Wednesday, Jan. 9, in Citrus Heights. She was 84.

In accordance with her wishes, there will be no services.



Mrs. Faria was born Aug. 16, 1917, in Grass Valley to Warner Walter and Ethel May (Rashleigh) Hooker. She attended Hennessy School and Mount St. Mary’s School in Grass Valley. She married Henry M. Faria May 30, 1936, at Lake Olympia in Grass Valley.




Mrs. Faria was a homemaker. In her spare time, she was an avid letter writer who also enjoyed gardening, cooking and watching baseball and NASCAR racing.

She is survived by her husband, Henry M. Faria of Citrus Heights; daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Gene Davis of Fair Oaks; sister, Thelma LeDu of Grass Valley; brother and sister-in-law, Carlton and Ruth Hooker of Gleneden Beach, Ore.; granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Tracy and Kelly Ames of Antelope; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers Walter Hooker in 1945 and Del Hooker in 1994.

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.
