Obituary: Julia Hamilton

Memorial services for Julia H. Hamilton of Grass Valley will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at the Nevada City chapel of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.



Burial will be at Sierra Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Nevada City.




Mrs. Hamilton died Tuesday, Feb. 5, in a Sacramento medical facility. She was 84.

She was born on July 15, 1917, in Miles City, Mont., to Henry and Bertha Parker. She was married to Richard Hamilton.

She worked for Friden Inc. for 25 years as a commercial inspector. She was a member of various garden and craft clubs and charitable organizations. She was also a member of the Tommyknockers. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, cooking and traveling.

She is survived by her brother, Harry Parker, of Fremont; granddaughters Ladonna Kerins of Georgia, Laurie Paeyeneers and Danielle Davis both of Willits; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Hamilton in 1998; daughter, Jeannette Breitweiser in 1975; and brother, Earl Parker.

Memorial contributions may be made to Guide Dogs for the Blind.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.
