Obituary: Gladys Parsons

Graveside services for Gladys Helen Parsons of Nevada City will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Sierra Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Nevada City.

Mrs. Parsons died Wednesday, Jan. 9, in Grass Valley. She was 85.



She was born on Sept. 21, 1916, in Presho, S.D., to Chris Metzger and Martha Ophadahl. She married David Parsons in 1950 in Reno. She enjoyed gardening, canning, sewing, artwork and drawing.




Mrs. Parsons is survived by her daughter Carol Silverman of Nevada City; son, George Parsons of Nevada City; sister, Mabel Dahl of Nevada City; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, David Parsons; and daughter Pamela Parsons.

Memorial contributions may be made to Cancer Aid.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.
