Obituary: Flora Jones

Visitation for family and friends of Flora Bell Jones of Grass Valley will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday at Chapel of the Angels Mortuary in Grass Valley. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m., and interment will follow at Greenwood Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Grass Valley.

Mrs. Jones died Monday, March 25, in Grass Valley.



She was born in Bullsgap, Tenn., and moved to Grass Valley from Kokomo, Ind.




She retired from Rascos retail store and was a volunteer at the Cancer Aid Thrift Store and Interfaith Food Ministry. She was named a world champion horseshoe pitcher and earned a place in the Horseshoe Hall of Fame. She enjoyed bowling and teaching her Sunday school class.

She is survived by her husband, John Jones of Grass Valley; sons Richard Jones of Lodi and David Jones of Arizona; daughters Sandy Carey of New Mexico and Sharon Valley of Grass Valley; 19 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughters Beverly Leon and Janice Welch; sons John Fredrick Jones, Paul Edwards Jones, Charles Michael Jones, Robert Dale Jones, James Franklin Jones and Jeffery Leon Jones.

Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel of the Angels Mortuary.
