Obituary: Emmitt Power

A celebration of life for Emmitt Mason Power of Fallon, Nev., will be conducted at 2 p.m. March 8 at the Penn Valley Community Church, 11739 Spenceville Road in Penn Valley.

Mr. Power died Thursday, Feb. 21, at home.



He was born July 31, 1925, in Missouri to Lennette Morlock and Mason Power. His family moved to California in his youth. He served in the Merchant Marines during World War II and later retired from the Operating Engineers Union as a heavy equipment mechanic.




He moved to Penn Valley 25 years ago and opened J & J Auto Electric. He was an avid baseball player with the Penn Valley Seniors Club for several years.

He is survived by wife, Goldie, of Fallon; brothers Tom of Fallon and Eugene of Sommerville, Ore.; sister Sarah Alexander of Sommerville; and numerous stepchildren and step-grandchildren.
