Obituary: Elizabeth Wemer

Visitation for family and friends of Elizabeth L. Wemer of Sacramento will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Nicoletti, Culjis & Herberger Funeral Home, 5401 Folsom Blvd. in Sacramento. Memorial services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at the Pioneer Congregational Church, 2700 L St. in Sacramento. Interment will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Elm Ridge Cemetery in Grass Valley.

Mrs. Wemer died Saturday, March 23, in Sacramento. She was 88.



She was born June 27, 1913, in Grass Valley. She graduated from the University of California at Berkeley in 1934, and was a longtime member of the River View Yacht Club. She lived in Sacramento for 43 years.




She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law Fred and Cristel Wemer of Seattle, Philip E. Wemer Jr. and Jessica Wemer of St. Louis and Donald and Elsa Wemer of Carmichael; daughters and sons-in-law Claire and Jerry Chase of Sacramento, Mollie and Nick Hogopian of Sacramento and Anne and Douglas Thomas of Carmichael; 15 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Philip Earl Wemer.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1765 Challenge Way, Suite 115, Sacramento 95815; or the National Kidney Foundation, 553 Pilgrim Drive, Suite C, Foster City 94404.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Nicoletti, Culjis & Herberger Funeral Home in Sacramento.
