Obituary: Doris Graversgaard

Services for Doris Marie Graversgaard of Grass Valley will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Nevada City chapel of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary. Burial will be at Greenwood Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Grass Valley.

Mrs. Graversgaard died Wednesday, Jan. 16, in Grass Valley. She was 69.

She was born Oct. 5, 1932, in Deanville, Texas, to Edward Joseph Ratjen and Elsie Ratjen Millsap. She graduated from Eureka High School in 1952. She married Ejvind Graversgaard in July 1961 in Reno. She worked in the clerical, business, sales and domestic fields. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and taking care of her flowers and cats.

She is survived by her daughter Karen Goodman of Grass Valley; son Kurt Graversgaard of Grass Valley; daughter and son-in-law Arleen and Bob Baumgart of Rough and Ready; brother and sister-in-law Alfred and Maryjane Ratjen of Eureka; grandchildren Miranda Goodman, and Brandon and Nathaniel Baumgart; nieces Lori Cantu and Lesa Larson; nephew Edward Ratjen; cousin Anne Nelson of Orangevale; and several cousins in Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ejvind, in July 1992; mother in December 1994; and father in 1957.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.
