Obituary: Donald Donnelly

Memorial services for Donald A. Donnelly of Nevada City will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at the home of his daughter, Judy Guidry, 4251 Pomona Way in Livermore. Burial will be at the Washelli-Evergreen Cemetery in Seattle, Wash.

Mr. Donnelly died, Monday, March 4, in Nevada City. He was 80.



He was born on Feb. 19, 1922, in Silverton, Ore. He lived in San Lorenzo before moving to Nevada City, where he lived for 15 years. Mr. Donnelly served in the U.S. Marines and was an auto mechanic for 50 years at Palace Garage in San Lorenzo. He enjoyed working on cars and helping others.




Mr. Donnelly is survived by his daughters, Donna Purett of Sacramento, Susan Berlin of Fremont and Judy Guidry of Livermore; son Sean Donnelly of Idaho; sister Lois Donnelly of Lockeford; brothers, Morris Donnelly of San Leandro, Ray Donnelly of Angels Camp and Richard Donnelly of Tennessee; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy J. Donnelly, in 2000; sons, Donald Donnelly in 1945 and Michael Donnelly in 1957; and brother Leo Donnelly in 1997.

Arrangements are under the direction of Callaghan Mortuary in Livermore.
