Violet Lloyd

Violet Elizabeth Lloyd, 87, peacefully passed on to her heavenly

home on July 30, 2013.

Violet was born June 6, 1926 in Moville, Iowa, the daughter of

Chuck and Nettie Leigh. She grew up in Long Beach and Married

Jerry Lloyd on Sept. 11, 1943. Jerry joined the Army Air Corp

during World War II. In 1949, they moved from Long Beach to

Gras Valley where they raised their three fine sons in the home

Jerry built.

Vi “Mamar” was know for her big smile and wearing scarf

bows in her hair. She worked several years at Merle Norman’s

Beauty Salon but mostly devoted her time and talents to being a

wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. You would find her

busy cooking, canning food and taking care of her family. She was

always asking someone to stay for a meal and she managed to have

enough for all those at the table. She was also a great seamstress and

blessed many people with her beautiful handiwork.

One of her favorite places to be was near the water. She enjoyed

camping, boating and RVing at a lake or visiting the ocean. She

loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and served God faithfully.

Her greatest joy in life was her husband and family. She filled their

lives with her love.

The family gives a sincere thanks of appreciation to Tim and

Brenda Lloyd who where her primary care givers for many years

as Vi’s health declined. For the last year and a half, she was able to

spread sunshine to all those who visited and cared for her at Spring

Hill Manor where she passed away July 30, 2013. The family wishes

to express their deep gratitude to the staff of Spring Hill Manor for

their wonderful loving care.

Violet was preceded in death by her devoted husband Jerry of 64

years in 2008, her partner and her brother Royal Leigh of Norwalk.

SHe is survived by her three sons and their wives, Jerry and Teresa

Lloyd of Fair Oakes, Roayal and Martie Lloyd of Los Banos and
