Roger Dwight Elliott

Roger Dwight Elliott passed away on September 5, 2012. He was born on November 11, 1961 to F.E. Gene and Margene (Filer) Elliott at SNMH in Grass Valley, CA.

Roger Dwight Elliott started working in construction at the age of 5 with his father, Gene of Gene Elliott Construction, where he continued for many years. He had an exceptional gift of being able to look at a section of bare land and visualize the finished product. He worked for many local construction companies for several years, than started his own company, Roger Elliott Construction, which he owned and operated for over 20 years. He had very recently started working for Robinson Enterprises.

The only thing he loved more than construction was his family and friends around him. He loved to share his knowledge with others and was compassionate to all. Roger was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need, sometimes even to his own detriment. He was the life of the party at every event and charming to everyone he came across.

He graduated Nevada Union High School in 1981 with a track scholarship to Taft College. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting, fishing, target shooting, disk golf, and motorcycling. He loved dancing to good music with friends and family. He was fiercely competitive and excelled at everything he set out to do. Roger was a member of the Grass Valley Sportsmen Club and the Grass Valley Pool League for several years.

He is survived by his fiance, Jacqueline Gilbert; siblings, Denise Elliott Wood and husband, Mike, Jennifer Elliott-Larsen, and Eric Elliott; his five children, Lacey Bowman and husband Cayleb, Jaimee Elliott, Jordan Elliott and wife Julia, Jessica Elliott, and Jeremiah Elliott; and his three beautiful grandchildren, Aailyah Bose, Reese Elliott, and Lila Elliott. He was engaged to be married to Jacqueline Gilbert on November 10, 2012 when he would have become the official step-father to her children, Hugo Velazquez, Alyssa Velazquez, and Michael Velazquez; and step-grandchildren, Andrew and Ginger. He was predeceased in death by his parents in 2002 and 2010 and by his brother, Douglas Elliott in 1954.

He is also survived by many other family and friends. Roger, Dad, Papa will forever be in our hearts and his smile and compassion will never be forgotten.
