Obituary of William “Bill” Habblett Jr.

William “Bill” Habblett, a long-time resident of Nevada County, passed away suddenly on Sept. 9, 2015 in east Texas. He was 70.

Bill will be respectfully and lovingly remembered by many throughout Nevada and Placer Counties. Growing up on various military bases across the world, he graduated high school and began his career in law enforcement in southern California. Eventually Bill moved to Grass Valley where he raised a family and served his community until his move to east Texas in early 2015 where he settled happily into retirement.

A humble man of quick wit and delightful charm, Bill lived an honorable life of faith, patriotism, and strength of character.

Bill is survived by his wife Paula Habblett; son William Habblett III; daughters, Elizabeth Denniston, Christina Callahan, and Natalie Stillwaugh; three sons-in-law; one granddaughter; his sister; step-mother; and countless beloved in-laws, friends, and neighbors.

He is preceded in death by his parents; one sister; and his wife of 30 years Rebecca Gallino Habblett of Grass Valley.

A memorial service will be held in celebration of Bill’s life-well-lived at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 17,, at Twin Cities Church off Rough and Ready Highway in Grass Valley.
