Obituary of Warren J. Cresswell

Warren J. Cresswell passed away at the hospital in Reno, Nevada on July 13, 2017. He was 85.

Warren was born in Grass Valley on June 13, 1932 to Ben and Myrtle Cresswell. He was raised and attended school in Grass Valley. He served in the army. He worked in the family’s towing business with his brother Allen from the time they could walk and talk until they retired in January 1994. He then moved to Sierra City, CA, where he spent the summer, then would head to Yuma, Arizona for the winter. He enjoyed traveling with his wife in their motor-home.

He is survived by his daughter Carolyn Thompson of Arizona; son Gene Cresswell of Nevada City; his wife Carmelita Cresswell; sister in law Marylin Moore Smart; 7 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Allen Cresswell and his first wife Peggy Moore Cresswell, whom he had two children with.

In lieu of flowers, make a memorial contribution in his honor to Cancer Aid Thrift Shop or Hospice of the Foothills. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., on August 5, 2017 at Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.

Arrangements are under the care of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.
