Obituary of Shaylee Sanderson

Shaylee Sanderson passed away on January 6, 2016 at the UC Davis Children’s hospital in Sacramento, CA after a long battle with Ependymoma Brain Cancer. Shaylee was 14. Shaylee’s smile was contagious and she always maintained a positive attitude. Shaylee was kind and caring, courageous and strong. Helping people in any way possible was very important to her, often wanting to donate to other kids in the hospital. Shaylee was adventurous and outgoing. She loved riding dirt bikes, swimming at the river, fishing, gold panning, collecting rocks, baseball cards, hot wheels and coins. Shaylee holds the key to many hearts and will be forever missed. Shaylee is survived by her mom Shelly Anderson; sister Paige Sanderson; grandparents Kathy Anderson and Mark Volheim, Cheryl and Prentice “Jr.” White; great grandmother Joan Hollister and Patsy Sanderson. She is also survived by her uncle’s Chad Anderson, JD Moore

(Katie) Cole White and Harris Volheim as well as numerous great aunts, great uncles and cousins. Shaylee loved life and people.

A celebration of Shaylee’s Life will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. on Sunday, January 24 at Butlermakers Cottage, Western Gateway Park. As Shaylee requested, we well have a few games and a balloon release.

We invite friends and family to join us in honoring our beautiful angel. In lieu of flowers, a new toy can be donated for the kids at UC Davis Children’s Hospital.
