Obituary of Sally Oty Krause

Sally Oty Krause died in her home in Grass Valley on May 31, 2016. Sally was born in 1926 in Adams, ND. She attended the University of North Dakota and was awarded a Bachelor of Philosophy in 1948. Sally taught English and writing courses at Garrison High School in Garrison, ND; Holy Angles Elementary School in Yuba City, CA and at Pleasant Valley Elementary in Penn Valley, CA. Sally and her husband Ernie retired in 1987 and travelled to many countries for the next 20 years. Sally was active in the Nevada County community, leading a senior writers group and has published 3 novels on her own.

She is survived by her 7 children Betty Hoffman of Moatsville, WV, Marcus Krause of Smartsville, Gail Krause of Watsonville, Shirley Bishop of Sacramento, Karen Scott of Stirling City, Julie Bessey of Sacramento, and Joseph Krause of Aptos. She also leaves 15 grandchildren; and 23 great grandchildren. Sally was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Ernest Krause.
