Obituary of Russell G. Patterson

Russ was called home April 24, 2014.

Russell G. Patterson was born July 23, 1935 in Hurlwood, Texas. He lived in various places including Lubbock, Texas, Oxnard and Daly City, California, where he graduated from Jefferson High before entering the Marines. Semper Fi!

He lived in San Carlos, Fremont and Nevada City, California with his life partner of 18 years, Nyia Wagner. After breaking a hip, he went to Golden Empire Nursing and Rehab Center in Grass Valley. Everyone was really GOLDEN! Our wonderful new family.

After a long career with Sears, Russ retired in 1998. Now he had even more time with all his animals that he loved so much. Russell was a member of Elks Lodge 2128. Also 40 & 8 Voiture Locale 393, along with being a life member of VFW Post 69 & American Legion Post 585 where he held various offices, including commander three times.

Along with Nyia, Russell is survived by his sister Wanda; son Sean; daughter Whitney; grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Russell was predeceased by his parents John and Bessie; siblings John and Louise.
