Obituary of Russell Dave Moyle

Russell Dave Moyle passed away May 25 at home. He was surrounded by his wife Bobbie, his caregivers and Hospice of the Foothills.

A native of Nevada City, Russell was born Oct. 6, 1919. While Russell spent most of his 96 years in Nevada City, he traveled the world while serving his country in the Navy. Russell was very proud of his distinguished Navel career. He married the love of his life, Bobbie Nerick, in 1946. How fortunate they were to have shared 69 years of marriage. They lived in several locations as a result of Russell’s Navel career, but returned to Nevada City after he retired. Russell and Bobbie traveled extensively both in the United States as well as abroad, but they especially treasured their annual trips with their long time friends to Mendocino. Russell was an incredibly talented individual. He attained a pilot’s license when he was 20 years old. He could build anything; he was an extraordinary woodworker and master gardener who kept his friends, neighbors and relatives supplied with produce throughout the summer. Russell also had a great love of fishing. Above all he was honest, kind, humble and devoted to his beloved Bobbie. Russell is survived by his wife Bobbie; niece Joanna (Dan); nephew Mike (Brenda); his cousin Margaret (Steve); his extraordinary friends Katie and Russ Jones, David Lindsey, Andrea Skeen; and his much appreciated caregiver Mereani, as well as many neighbors and good friends.
