Ronald Worley

Ronald Eldred Worley passed away Nov. 7, 2015.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m., November 11, 2015 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints in Nevada City. Interment will follow at a later date.

He was born at Saddle Mountain, Kiowa County, Oklahoma, on May 25, 1937 to Eldred Worley and Edna Pearl Jones. He attended Franklin High School in Highland Park, California. He joined the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department in 1962 and served in various capacities until his retirement 30 years later.

He was a loving husband, proud father and delighted grandfather. He had keen interest in history, which lead to a love of language. He was fluent in many languages which were all self taught. He loved BMWs, opera, and sharing his vast knowledge of everything through his many stories.

He married D. Lynette Oates in 1964, who he is survived by along with his seven children and 13 grandchildren, Christian (Tracy, Silas), Erin (Andrews, Garrett, Sam, Mallory, Laney), Laurel (Tony, Kiya, Nathan, Logan) Kirk, Peter (April, Gabe), Hillary (Matt, Garrin, Brenna, Eden), Claire (Jason, Serena Katherine), along with one sister, Geraldine Worley Sanderson.

Arrangements are under the care of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.
