Obituary of Robert Plant IV

Robert Hazelhurst Plant IV died August 3, 2014 at Hospice of the Foothills. He was 79.

Robert was born Aug. 8, 1934 in Omaha, Neb. to Robert Hazelhurst Plant III and Helen Lucille Plant. He worked at Hughes Aircraft for 37 years as the head of the design department. He was part of a successful team that was, responsible for putting a surveyor on the moon. He was married to Joan Plant for 61 and half years.

Bob enjoyed gardening, making shelves and bird houses and riding his Harley. One and a half years ago, he rode 2,300 miles to Sturgis, S.D. with Steve Murphy and son, Tim Plant. He especially enjoyed his grandchildren. He was so proud of them, they are all very successful.

He is survived by his wife, Joan; daughters, Wendi and Julie Templeton; sons, Robert, Tim and Dr. Tom Templeton; grandsons, Henry, Morgan, Nolan and Timothy; granddaughters, Jamie, Jackie, Julie, Jodie, Richelle, Lexie and Madie; brother, Bud Plant; sister-in-law, Pat and sister, Margaret Parker.

Contributions can be made to Hospice of the Foothills.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.
