Obituary of Robert Beatty

Robert Beatty passed away at home Aug. 8, 2015. He was 89.

Funeral Services Grave side service will be at 11 a.m., Aug. 21 at Hooper and Weaver Mortuary in Nevada City, followed by a lunch in at the Nevada City Elks Lodge.

He was born Jan. 26, 1326 in Joplin, Missouri.

Joining the navy after high school he served on the USS Roosevelt from 1944-1946. After his journey with the navy he went to college where he learned the trade of sheet metal work.

He worked with the sheet metal union, local 104 until he retired in 1985.

There on he lived out his life doing what he loved: hunting, fishing and traveling. He was a member of the Nevada City Elks and good Sams club. Many evenings you could find him square dancing and having a good time with friends and family. He was a strong and hard working man that will be missed by all.

He is survived by his wife Sharon Beatty; daughter Nancy (Tom) Guerra; sons, Russell and George (Nancy) Beatty; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Robert was preceded in death by his mother and father.

Memorial contributions may be made out to Hospice of the Foothills.
