Mary Anne died July 23, 2014, peacefully at home, surrounded by family after a brief battle with cancer.

A celebration of life is scheduled at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 7, at Sierra Presbyterian Church on Ridge Road in Nevada City.

Her ashes will be placed in her husband’s gravesite during a private interment ceremony after the celebration of life.

Mary Anne was born Feb. 16, 1927, in Willows, Calif. She was married to Ira Ainger on June 1, 1947. They had two children, Joyce and Donald, six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her sister Bobbie Anderson and brothers, Tom McMartin, Jim McMartin and Johnny McMartin.

Mary Anne was preceded in death by her sister Jane Hahn; brothers, Bill McMartin and George McMartin; and husband Ira.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Hospice of the Foothills or Sierra Presbyterian Church.
