Marie Frances Kokotylo Drake Berman (known as Koko) passed away on July 24, 2015, at Atria Senior Living.

Koko was born Oct. 10, 1921 in Humboldt, Saskatchewan, Canada. She married James Drake on Sept. 25, 1967 in Bellingham, Washington. They operated a logging company until moving to the Grass Valley area in the 1980s.

Koko volunteered at the Cancer Aid Thrift Store, Hospice of the Foothills, and loved helping family and friends with any problems they may have. Koko was proud that at 90 years old she was exercising and on the news Hula-Hooping.

Koko is survived by stepson, Kingsley Drake and family, Bob and Lori Wick and family and great niece Sharon Dolan.

As per Koko’s request, there will not be a memorial service.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.
