Obituary of Margaret Caperton

Margaret Caperton

Margaret Caperton died Aug. 15, 2014, at Golden Empire Nursing and Rehab Center of Alzheimer’s Disease.

Services will be held in Princeton, W.Va., with burial in the Athens Cemetery, Athens, W.Va.

Margaret was born Nov. 29, 1929, in Toledo, Ohio, to Pearl and Ralph Freeman. She graduated from De Vilbiss High School and attended the University of Toledo and Wright State University.

Margaret married Lt. Overton Caperton on June 9, 1955, at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas. She was active as a hospital volunteer for 25 years with more than 5,000 hours served. She also volunteered at Interfaith Food Ministry in Grass Valley.

She loved cooking, entertaining and traveling, having visited Europe, Crete, Alaska, Canada and Japan.

Margaret will be missed by all, especially her husband of 59 years, Overton.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her sister Helen Parker; niece Nancy Petrov and husband Alan all of Solon, Ohio; and nephew Robert Parker and wife, Karen of Thousand Oaks, Calif.

Margaret was preceded in death by her mother and father, Pearl and Ralph Freeman.

Memorial contributions may be made to The Alzheimer’s Association or a charity of your choice.
