Obituary of Linda Martin

Linda J. Martin died peacefully on Oct. 25, 2014 at Golden Empire. She was 78.

A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 7, at Forest View Cemetery in Nevada City, followed by a gathering at Dennis’ home.

Linda was born on March 26, 1936, at Miners Hospital in Nevada City, the daughter of Bob and Buela Ray Martin. Linda graduated from Nevada Union in 1953. She had three children, Dennis, Bernadine, and Martin Poulter. Linda retired from Tri Continent in Grass Valley.

She enjoyed crocheting, Nascar, and stock car racing, going as far as racing stock cars a few times at the Nevada County Fairgrounds.

Linda is survived by her children, Dennis Poulter and Bernadine Poulter; seven grandchildren, Sheila, Jennifer, David, Chase, Danielle, Desirea, and Jordan; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Buela; brothers, Dave, Sid, Jim, and Harold; and son Martin Kendall Poulter.

The family wishes to express a special thanks to the staff of Golden Empire. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend, and co-worker. She will be dearly missed.
