Obituary of Kenneth L. Watson

Kenneth L. Watson passed away on July 21, 2017, peacefully at home in his sleep with his wife by his side after a 20-month battle with esophageal cancer.

Kenneth was born on May 4, 1946 in Merced, CA to H.O. Watson and Velma Bailey Watson.

He attended Weaver School and Merced Union High School, graduating in 1964. He worked in construction and at Lowe’s. He loved fishing, skiing and gardening, but mostly he loved to golf. He and his wife Arlene were married for over 36 years. Upon retirement they moved to Grass Valley where he loved to garden, build wood furniture and, of course, go golfing.

He is survived by Arlene; two sons, Chaze Watson and Alex Watson; two stepsons, Scott Hogan and Gary Hogan and their families; plus his two grandsons, Evan Watson and Ethan Watson; brother Richard (Judy) and brother-in-law and sister-in-law Bill (Fran) Coe; as well as nephews Andy Watson and Mark Watson and their families.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Barbara Atkins and Sharon Watson; and nephew Robbie Atkins.

Per Kenneth’s request, there will be no services, but memorial donations can be made in his name to the Cancer Aid Thrift Store, 317 S. Auburn Street, Grass Valley, CA 95945.
