Obituary of Ken (Kenny) Krake

Kenny Krake, passed peacefully in early July from cancer at his home in Allegheny, California with loving sweetheart and caregiver, Carolyn by his side.

A memorial celebrating Kenny will be held before 10 a.m. on Aug. 1, 2015 near Alleghany. Please bring a shovel and water. There will be a pot luck luncheon afterward at the Old School Gym in Alleghany, bring your own beverage.

Kenny enjoyed mining, his Harley, carpentry and his work at the Chicago Park Fire Department. In all his days he enjoyed helping others in many different ways. He will be remembered as someone who was comfortable with silence, yet when he spoke, there was something valuable and relevant to be shared.

Kenny will always be remembered as the loving father of, DeeDee, Jeanette, John; and grandfather to, Sean, Raquel, Jake and Breonna. He will be dearly missed by two brothers, Richard (Corky) and Pat and has likely reconnected with sister, Kathy and his parents, Chuck and Joan in the life beyond this. His long time friend and ‘Guru” Buck Barker said he would meet him at Heaven’s Gate in appreciation of his help and friendship. Kenny took excellent care of him up to the end of Buck’s life.

He would ask that you love your children, love your families (close and extended) and love your life to the very last moment. All, with a whole lotta laughter!

Contributions in his name can be made to the Chicago Park Fire Department.
