Obituary of Joycelyn Dee Chylewski Smith

On Jan. 22, 2016 the world lost an amazing and unique soul, Joycelyn Dee Chylewski Smith. She passed at UC Davis Medical Center due to surgery complications from congestive heart failure.

Joycelyn was born to Raymond John and Elizabeth Chylewski on July 14, 1967. She grew up in Grass Valley with her father and stepmother.

Joycelyn was an incredible woman who cared deeply for her friends and family. She was always honest, sometimes brutally, though her unbridled attitude and sense of humor was one of her most beloved traits.

Although her life was short, she lived it to the fullest. Her carefree and goofy spirit was an absolute treasure to those who have had the privilege to have known her. She will be truly and greatly missed by many.

She is survived by her parents; son Bryan Styles Smith; daughters, Christine and Amy Rice; sisters, Jean, Juliet, Judith, Liz and Michelle; brothers, Robert and Ryan; stepbrother Tiger and stepsister Darlene.

A memorial will be at 1 p.m. Feb. 20 at Union Square 151 Mill St. Grass Valley, Calif.
