Obituary of Joseph Anthony Arens

Joseph Anthony Arens passed away January 11, 2019 in the comfort of his home due to natural causes.
Joe was born in Wilmont, Minnesota on July 8, 1936 to Alphonse and Rose Arens. He was the oldest of 7 children.
Joe entered the United States Air Force after graduating high school and settled in Southern California after serving 4 years in the Air Police.
He was married to Eloise Hernandez in 1954 and celebrated the birth of their first son Matt, 13 months later. In 1968, Joe moved the family to Nevada City where they would reside for over 50 years before moving back to Southern California in September of last year.
Joe was a member of the Nevada City Lions Club for over 50 years. He was a founding member of the St. Joseph's Guild Men's Club at the St Canice Parish. Joe was also a friend of Bill W. and introduced many others to him.
Joe is survived by his wife of 54 years, Eloise; his 2 sons Anthony and Sean, and his foster son, Ivan Harwell; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren.
Mass will be held at 11 a.m., on Saturday, February 16, 2019, at St. Canice Catholic Church in Nevada City.
